Provided that a grader is assigned, the formula used to compute your numeric grade is the following:

Note that each quiz is equally weighted, that the quizzes constitute 45 percent of your final grade, that the final is 30 percent, and that you can gain 20 points by doing all of the homework correctly. That's usually more than the difference between a C and an A
There is a required diagnostic exam or pre-test for this course. It will
be administered by CASA Testing Center from July 30 -
August 2nd and August 27th - September 7th. If you score 50% or below on
this exam, you must show proof of having completed the prerequisite for
this course, credit for or concurrent enrollment in MATH 1432.
You must e-mail your transcript from your PeopleSoft
account to dstokes@uh.edu by 5 pm on
September 7, 2012. Please include your instructor's name, course name
and class number in the subject line of your e-mail ( i.e. Name of Prof.
of Your Physics Class, Phys 1321, Class Number #####). If you
have not completed the prerequisite, you may be dropped from the course and any labs associated with this course
by the Physics Department. If you score 50% or below and have completed the prerequisite,
we recommend that you enroll in appropriate
remediation. You can log onto the CASA website
to make a reservation at http://casa.uh.edu/
or you may go to room 222 Garrison Gym. The diagnostic pretest will
count 5% of your final grade.
This problem solution technique is a concise statement of the methodology that virtually all science teachers convey by one means or another. The author is a local high school teacher. It is so good as is, I have no need to write another version of my own just to exercise my typing skills.
A copy of the instruction memo that I give to the grader is posted here.
Homework solutions will only be available via the VNet web site.
