Do Research Group

We are a synthetic chemistry research group at the University of Houston, one of the premier Texas public research universities in the heart of America’s fourth largest metropolitan areas. Our program focuses on themes related to health, energy, and materials, with an emphasis on the tailoring of transition metal complexes for biological applications and industrially important catalytic processes. Work in the group spans a wide range of techniques and physical characterization methods, including synthesis of organic and inorganic compounds, spectroscopy, crystallography, cell biology, and imaging. Our guiding philosophy is that the most interesting and important scientific problems today transcend traditional boundaries of research, which means that our projects are problem- rather than discipline-driven.
