Structure of NuSTEAM

Research Projects

After the summer training program, the students will be given unique research topics to be addressed at their home institutions over the next two semesters (Fall, Spring). The projects are chosen by all co-PIs in close coordination. During the Fall/Spring semesters, the students will be supervised by the local co-PI. There will be regular Zoom meetings will all participating students and PIs, during which progress reports from all projects will be discussed. This will also optimize the student’s presentation skills and it will enhance their professional development. Possible research topics are: mapping the phase diagram of matter in strong fields, fluid dynamics in strongly interacting systems, machine learning for particle analysis, radiation measurements in space and atmosphere, testing and operating a TPC, phenomenological modeling of heavy-ion data, and many more.
