In 2001 I joined the Division of Biochemistry at the University of Houston (UH), as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Biochemistry. This appointment followed a period at The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California, where I completed my post-doctoral training.I attained my PhD in 1996 from Cambridge University in the UK, and graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1993.

My research vision is to use structural biology to link the fields of biology and chemistry by an understanding of the molecular mechanisms of biological processes.
