Po An Chen (5th year)

 

Po-An Chen (Alan) was born in Taipei, Taiwan, in 1987. He received his BSc (2009) and MSc degrees (2010) from the Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan. After 11 months in the Taiwanese Coast Guard Administration, He was a research assistant at Academia Sinica Institute (2013). In October 2013, he joined May’s research group at University of Houston. His interests in chemistry are total synthesis of natural product and organocatalytic reaction. 

 

Krit Setthakarn (5th year)

 

Krit Setthakarn was born in Thailand in 1987. He received BSc. (2009) and MSc. in Organic Chemistry (2012) from Silpakorn University, Thailand. In 2012, he attended Dr. Lee’s group for a short-term research in University of Houston. In October 2013, he joined May’s group as a graduate student in University of Houston. His favorite things are playing football, taking photos, listening to music and playing a guitar.

 

 

Truong Nguyen (4th year)

 

Truong was born in Viet Nam in 1991. He obtained B.E. degree in Chemical Engineering at HCMC University of Technology (2009-2014). In Fall 2014, he joined May Group at University of Houston as a graduate student. His hobbies are science fiction films, soccer, and chess.

Sasha was born in Moscow. She got her B.S. In Chemistry from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois in 2013. She came to UH in 2015, and there, joined the May group. Her favorite things, besides chemistry, are cats, video games,  and music festivals.

Qinxuan Wang (Steven) (2nd year)

 

Qinxuan Wang (Steven) was born in China in 1993. He received his B.S. In Chemistry from Fudan University in Shanghai, China in 2016. In the summer of 2015, he attended Prof. Dr. F. Ekkehardt Hahn's group for a short-term research in University of Münster, Germany. In December 2016, he joined Dr. May’s research group at University of Houston for graduate study. He has lots of hobbies besides Chemistry. He loves playing basketball and billiards, listening to musics, watching sports and movies.

 

Amy Boylan (2nd year)

 

She was born in Texas and raised in Dallas. She obtained a B.S. degree from Baylor University from 2012 to 2016 in Chemistry.Then in the summer of 2016, she joined the May Group. In her free time, she enjoys running and doing

outdoor actvities.

Davis Plasko

 

Davis was born in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1995. He received his BS in Chemistry from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina. In the Fall of 2017 he joined the May group as a graduate student at the University of Houston. His favorite hobbies are snowboarding, skydiving, going to the range, flight simulator, and of course organic chemistry.
