Dr. Vidushi Adlakha

September 20, 2021: This month we are featuring Dr. Vidushi Adlakha, a former WiPS member and one of the student founders of this organization. Dr. Adlakha, is a 2021 graduate from the Bassler group in the Department of Physics, University of Houston. During her Ph.D., she studied the decomposition of anomalous diffusion into its constitutive effects for various stochastic processes. She developed robust computational tools required to analyze and characterize such processes with application to real-world data. Currently, she is a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she is applying her training in physics to problems in biomedical research. In 2018, she received a fellowship from the prestigious American Association of University Women (AAUW) for continuing her Ph.D. research. As a staunch feminist with a penchant for science, she has been encouraging more female students to pursue a career in the field of science and technology.
